BRIEF BIODATA OF DR. G.R. KANWAL
1. BIRTH : Born on 16th November 1935 in Lahore(Now in Pakistan) migrated to Delhi, mostly on foot in August 1947, immediately after the partition of India.
2. EDUCATION : Honours – in – Urdu with English, History and Political Science. Philosophy as an additional subject M.A and Ph.D in English. Bachelor of Teaching. Diploma in Journalism. First division and merit position in all exams.
3. CAREER : Started as an Urdu weekly newspaper editor-cum-owner served as Teacher of Urdu in Idara-e-Sharqia , Delhi . Shifted to English journalism and education. Served as Lecturer in English in RLA College, Delhi University, Retired as Principal of Anglo Sanskrit Victoria Jubilee Senior Secondary School, Daryaganj, New Delhi, one if the oldest schools of Delhi (established 1868),after completing a tenure of 18 years. Currently, Honorary Director – cum – Secretary. Sumermal Jain Public School,B2 Block Janakpuri, New Delhi. Also Honorary Chairman, Doon Public School Panchkula (Haryana) and New Hope Seekers Society, Dehradun, a charitable organization providing complete upbringing to homeless girls and providing community services to the economically deprived section of society.
