HE
WHO KNOWS
“HE WHO KNOWS” is a very short inspirational poem. It is
based on a Persian proverb. The name of the writer is unknown. The poem
mentions three types of persons ‘who know’ or ‘know not’ but only one of them
is called ’wise’. The fist one of the
other two is termed ‘a fool’ and the second one ‘a child’. Let us read the poem
to know ‘Why?’.
THE POEM
He who knows not, and knows not that
he knows not, is a fool, shun him.
He who knows not, and knows that he
knows not, is a child, teach him.
He who knows, and knows not that he
knows, is asleep, wake him;
He who knows, and knows that he
knows, is wise, follow him.
