UNFORGETTABLE POETIC LINES

UNFORGETTABLE POETIC LINES

1.  The steed of life is galloping fast,

The hand no longer holds the reins

            Who knows where it will stay?

            The stirrups torn away.----GHALIB

          2. Remember, no men are strange, no countries foreign,

Beneath all uniforms, a single body breathes

Like ours; the land our brothers walk upon

Is earth like this, in which we all shall lie.----JAMES KIRKUP

3. The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

 But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.-----ROBERT FROST

4. And if I pray, the only prayer

That moves my lips for me

Is, ‘Leave the heart that now I bear;

And give me liberty’.-----EMILY BRONTE

5. Rise ! if the Past detains you,

Her sunshine and storms forget;

No chains so unworthy to hold you

As those of a vain regret.------A.A.PROCTER

6. I think I could turn and live with animals, they are so placid and self-contained;

  I stand and look at them long and long.

They do not sweat and whine about their condition.

They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins;

They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God.----WALT WHITMAN
