“Sincerity” is defined as honesty, frankness, earnestness, genuineness,
Straightforwardness, truthfulness, trustworthiness, etc.
A sincere person is honest, true, frank, artless,
trustworthy, un-deceitful, etc.
If you are sincere, your thoughts, beliefs, behavior show
what you really think or feel.
Sincerity is one of the most important moral virtues. Scottish
judge Henry Home (1696 -1782) says : “Sincerity thou first of virtues, let no
mortal leave thy onward path, although the earth should gape, and from the gulf
of hell destruction rise, to take dissimulation’s winding way.”
According to the English divine John Tillotson (1630-94)
sincerity is to speak as we think, to do as we pretend and profess, to perform
what we promise, and really to be what we would seem and appear to be.
It is not be wrong to say that sincerity, a deep, genuine,
heart-felt sincerity is a trait of true and noble manhood.
Finally, as the Chinese philosopher Confucius said :
Sincerity and truth are the basis of every virtue.
